Boston is home to many incredible events all summer long, and July is one of the very best months for them. Besides for the 4th of July, or Independence Day, extravaganza which kicks off this week, there are plenty of other food, music, and art festivals to look forward to. We’ve pulled together the weekend festivals we’re looking forward to most this month!
From July 5th to the 6th, the 7th annual Caribbean food festival, Boston Jerkfest, will take place at 12 Dade Street. Noted as one of Boston’s top 10 summer food festival by the Zagat guide, this family-friendly event is all about eating Jamaican jerk spiced food in the sunshine. The festival includes Wine & Brew Tasting on Friday night, the food festival on Saturday, a Seafood Throwdown, Jerk Cook-off, live reggae music, arts & craft vendors, a Reggae Lounge, and an area for kids of all ages. Buy your tickets now!
The following week, the 12th annual Nantucket Comedy Festival kicks off in the Dreamland Theatre on Nantucket Island. From July 11th to the 13th, this event includes a kids’ show, a women’s night, and a showdown between local and national comedians from Boston and New York. The kick-off event is Love & Laughter, about, well, love and laughter, hosted by “twice-divorced” Vic Henley. Make to reserve your tickets now before the event sells out.
From July 12th to the 14th, Levitate Music & Arts Festival takes place on the ground of Marshfield Fair. Featuring fantastic music, local arts & crafts, food trucks, beer, wine, and more, this event is almost sold out, as it does every year. If you want two days in the sun, reserve your ticket now!
There are so many more festivals worth checking out this July — from New England’s longest-running Latino cultural celebration, Festival Betances, to the Puerto Rican Festival at City Hall Square, and the Newport Folk Festival in nearby Rhode Island. Regardless of where you choose to spend your weekends, GO Boston has the fleet and staff of reliable drivers to get you to and from your destination safely and comfortably — and with air conditioning!
