First up, is Avenue Kitchen & Bar in Somerville. Just a short distance from central Boston, this cozy restaurant in Ball Square has a neighborhood atmosphere, and their specialty is Detroit-style pizza, so come with an empty stomach. Their mac and cheese and ramen are also delicious.
If you’re over in Cambridge, Gustazo Cuban Kitchen and Bar is a very cool spot. Its original location is over in Waltham, but its new location in Porter Square is modern and multi-level. It’s cocktail list is adventurous, and its menu boasts of delicious Cuban small plates and entrees. Its brunch and lunch services are opening soon.
If you’re looking for a cozy but upscale bar, The Longfellow Bar at Alden and Harlowis one of the hottest cocktail spots in the city. Located in Cambridge, this stunning bar also has fancy bar snacks, including pigs ‘n’ blankets made with cotechino sausage and black truffle, waffle fries topped with pickled garlic salsa verde and espellete aioli, and ikura on deviled eggs.
