June is a busy month in Boston – to kick off summer there will be some fantastic and diverse shows coming to the area! Here’s a list of some fun events coming to the Boston area.
Dave Matthews Band – On June 22, at the Xfinity Center the legendary Dave Matthews Band will be performing! Formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia, the band has put out countless albums and hits that paved the way for alternative rock in the 90’s and still today! Don’t miss out on your chance to hear classic hits like Satellite and Crash into Me as people will be flooding the venue like “Ants Marching.”
Depeche Mode – Saturday, June 9, the classic goth, electronic icons will be performing at the TD Garden in Boston. The band is originally from Britain and known for their use of synthesizers which paved the way for a lot of electronic music we know today. Their heart-felt lyrics mixed with dancy vibes make for a fantastic party.
Kendrick Lamar & SZA – Kendrick Lamar has done some truly iconic things in the short time that he’s been performing. The lyricist and rap performer speaks about political issues in some of his songs but mixes most of them with an extremely groovy vibe. SZA is a well-known female performer whose voice is very dreamy and poetic mixed with strong female vocals. These two playing one show will make for a truly memorable time. You can find them playing on Tuesday, June 5, at the Xfinity center in Mansfield.
Paul Simon – On Friday, June 15 the legendary Paul Simon will be performing at the TD Garden. Simon started to gain popularity in the mid 60’s singing about political issues while writing all of the songs and lyrics himself. Born in Newark, New Jersey, the songwriter has created many hits such as “You Can Call Me Al,” “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” and “Me and Julio Down by The School Yard.” Paul Simon is a staple in American music and you don’t want to miss this!
Zac Brown Band – On June 16 the Zac Brown Band will be performing at Fenway Park! What a better way to experience Boston and the Zac Brown Band than by seeing them play in one of the most iconic stadiums. The iconic country band started out in Georgia and has since then produced 6 full length albums. At one point, they were playing 200 shows yearly! They are masters at performing. Head down to Fenway Park and have a country time with the Zac Brown Band!
Along with the Zac Brown Band and the others The Boston Pops will also be performing over the Charles River Esplanade a few times in June. Remember to take the night off completely and book a Go Boston Shuttle for your best concert adventure yet!
